In Commercial II this semester we have been working on designing a Hotel with a restaurant space and a spa or retail space as well. I designed a hotel located in Charlotte, NC. The hotel design concept was "An escape to urban heaven"  The whole aspect was to create a high end urban environment. The lobby consisted of mirrors that reflected off surfaced to make the room look larger than in reality. The restaurant had high ceilings with large floor to ceiling windows which in return reminding you of skyscrapers. The Spa is a more relaxing environment by using soft tones of blue. This space relaxes the senses and frees the sole to escape to urban heaven.

Harmony House

In my Residential Design II Class, we have entered into a design competition through the Bienenstock furniture library. Our project is to design the Harmony House located in Seattle Washington. The house is specifically designed for runaways ages 10-17. The whole concept is to provide a healing and rehabilitating environment for the teens.

The first floor consists of the sandwich shop which is open to the public. I have a small area at the left as soon as you walk in. It step's up to another level to create visual interest in the space. The first floor will also consist of the reception area which is located on the opposite side of the building.

The second floor will consist of six resident rooms with a bathroom and shower. There is also a commons area for games and socialization with one another.

In my Commercial 1 class I was given an assignment to design the interior space of The American Heart Association Office and Go Red Clinic Located in Houston Texas. The two buildings together totaled 7,000 square feet.

We all were able to choose any type of color scheme and design aspect we wanted. I choose to go with a red and grey color schemes to enhance the Go red aspect of the two buildings. I also went with a modern design aspect. I used Straight edges throughout my whole design. During my design process I have excelled in Podium rendering as well as Auto Cad Drawings. I have learned more about commercial codes, and how to successfully space plan a building.
